The Silversmith

Star embarked on her creative journey into silversmithing having inherited her Mum's jewellery makers tools and materials.  Beginning as a way to heal from her grief, Star quickly discovered she had also inherited her Mum's silversmithing skills.

Taking her inspiration from cultural heritage, botanicals and storytelling, she now creates statement pieces from elegant & classic to quirky & unique.

Materials include silver, copper and metal clays along with precious and semi-precious gemstones.

The Apprentice

Inspired by Star's creative journey her life partner and support human Tracy has begun to learn and create her own unique jewellery. Her style is complementary to Star's but she has her own twist taking her design inspiration from nature and botanicals.

Hallmarking

Every sterling silver piece eligible for UK hallmarking is independently tested and hallmarked by a UK Assay Office. This official mark certifies the metals purity and reflects our commitment to quality, authenticity, and lasting craftsmanship.  In the UK, sterling silver items weighing over 7.78g and gold over 1g are eligible, and usually legally required, to be hallmarked.

We are registered with Sheffield Assay office.  Our hallmark is made up of Star's initials (SB) the metal fineness hallmark and the Sheffield Assay Office mark, a rose for Yorkshire.  The metal fineness marks found on our jewellery are listed below.

Silver
925 = Sterling Silver (92.5% silver)
999 = Fine Silver (99.9% silver)
Gold
375 = 9ct Gold (37.5% gold)
585 = 14ct Gold (58.5% gold)
750 = 18ct Gold (75% gold)
